The Passportes du Soleil Mountain Bike Tour
The 80km of trails of the 'Passportes du Soleil' are made up of 85% downhill, 15% flat and 5% uphill, and are accessed by 23 lifts running every day from the end of June to September. This incredible trek between Valais and the Vallee d'Aulps is recognised by the FFC (Federation Francise de Cyclisme). On the Swiss sections the route is marked by the Touring Club Suisse. The downhill courses are classed as red runs (for experienced riders), but there are many blue routes in the 12 resorts of the Portes du Soleil where you can practice in safety. Thanks to the lift system, it is possible to complete the 'PassPortes du Soleil ' in a day and have an amazing time!
Why not spread the tour over two days if you prefer to take your time and admire the countryside, accompanied by the relaxing sound of cowbells and enjoy a picnic lunch on the grass or eat at one of the many refuges along the way.
Downhill Tracks
10 permanent downhill tracks prove the label of 'Mountain Bike Kingdom' given to the Portes du Soleil.
With one liftpass the choice is amazing: the famous Mont Chery (World Cup 2004) run, the free ride Morgins run, the Super Châtel Danger H in the purest alpine tradition, among the fir trees and straight downhill!
